Clued In Education Masterclasses are structured professional development programs designed for people who want to build capability and produce something they can use in their RTO.
 
Each masterclass includes six progressive online modules, providing 12 hours of guided learning. As you work through the modules, you will complete a practical assignment that applies the learning to your own role, RTO or area of responsibility.
 
At the end of the program, you will submit your completed assignment and meet individually with Catherine Hodgson for a one-hour online feedback and Q&A session. You will receive personalised feedback on your work, the opportunity to explore questions specific to your context and a Certificate of Professional Development Completion recording 13 hours of structured professional development.
 
All masterclasses are aligned with the expectations of the 2025 Standards for RTOs and focus on helping you translate those expectations into stronger workplace practice.
 
Assessment Design Masterclass
 
The Assessment Design Masterclass will guide you through the process of designing or redesigning an assessment tool for one unit of competency. Across six progressive online modules, you will learn how to interpret the training product, determine what competent performance looks like, select appropriate assessment methods and develop meaningful tasks that reflect the practical application of skills and knowledge.
 
You will also examine assessor guidance, decision-making rules, reasonable adjustment, accessibility, authenticity, mapping and pre-use review. Particular attention is given to reducing overreliance on written assessment and designing assessment that is less vulnerable to plagiarism, generative AI and other forms of evidence substitution.
 
By the end of the masterclass, you will have developed a complete assessment design portfolio for your selected unit of competency. This will include the assessment plan, student tasks, assessor guidance, evidence criteria, mapping and documented pre-use review.
 
The masterclass aligns particularly with Standards 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 of the 2025 Standards for RTOs.
